No one in the world votes for unemployment
VLORË
No more than 26 percent of the employees of the state fishing enterprise are working, while over 300 are on assistance; around 200 specialists and workers are thinking of emigrating to Greece, while other specialists are leaving the fishing fleet every day and turning to street trade. Almost all the facilities of the fishing fleet have ended up in a miserable condition. Some of the facilities have not been privatized, such as the warehouses and the fishing port. This economic and financial collective is nowhere to be seen, despite representing a very large value for the country’s economy. This situation is extremely serious for the workers and specialists of this sector, who have long been waiting for a solution. In this situation, the question is clearly posed: can votes be asked from people who face unemployment and a lack of perspective every day? (Continued on page 2)
Left behind in the privatization list
KORÇË 21 workers write to 'Zëri'
21 workers from the reconstruction workshop have addressed a protest to the editorial office of our newspaper regarding the privatization lists. According to them, employees with years of work and experience have been left out, while other names unrelated to the enterprise have been included. They claim that the established criteria have been disregarded and that people close to the managers are being favored. The workers are demanding a review of the lists, transparency, and fair enforcement of the law. Their letter stresses that privatization should not become an instrument of injustice, but a process that respects each person’s contribution. The newspaper’s editorial office is following the case.

In the activists’ discussions it was emphasized that without reviving production and without returning specialists to work there can be no way out of the crisis. It was requested that politics support professional skills, investment, and the opening of jobs. The participants pointed out that Albania has human potential and that political will is needed to avoid collapse. (Continued on page 2)
